Tyre Fitment

Advice

We are always available to advise on suitable fitment, compound, patterns and pressure. We are only too pleased to be able to help you find the right tyre for your vehicle.

Tyre Fitting

Motorsport tyres are of tubeless construction and therefore need to be fitted with extra care to ensure perfect seating of the tyre bead without damage to the rim flange. In order to ensure this you should always have your tyres mounted using a suitable tyre fitting machine, by a certified dealership that knows how to handle competition tyres.

All competition tyres should be fitted to steel or alloy wheels with the correct tolerances. Cast alloy wheels should be treated to ensure they are not porous. Rims should be carefully checked for cracks, rust or any damage which may prevent an airtight fitment.

Tyre Pressure

The correct pressure varies according to driver, car and track conditions; it is often a matter of personal preference, but sufficient pressure must always be used to avoid structural damage to the tyre.

Tyres should not be inflated above 40 psi (2.7 bar). If the beads do not seat at this pressure, deflate the tyre, rotate the tyre 90 degrees on the rim and re-inflate to 40 psi. If this fails to seat the bead, the assembly should be put into a safety cage and inflated to a maximum 65 psi. Failure to use a safety cage could result in serious injury.

Pressure Conversion:

PSI to BAR: divide by 14.7
BAR to PSI: multiply by 14.7.

Storage & Preparation

Tyres should be stored in a cool, dark and dry environment away from direct sunlight, high temperatures or high voltage machinery. The use of chemical treatments such as tyre 'soaking' of tread 'softener' to alter the carcass or tread compound of a competition tyre could result in premature or catastrophic tyre failure and serious injury or death.

Tyre life will be improved if tyres are scrubbed in before use in race conditions. Tyres should be quickly and briefly brought up to operating temperature without the use of hard acceleration, braking or cornering and then cooled off.

Conditions Of Use

Motorsport tyres are specially designed and compounded for competition use. No warranty is given due to the extreme conditions under which they operate.
