Kumho R800 Forest / Gravel - Rally Tyres

The Kumho R800 is a forest/gravel rally tyre that is fast becoming the one to beat in British, Irish and International Rallying.
The tyre has helped top drivers to title and class wins in national championships.
The R800 is the latest, asymetrically treaded addition to the range.

The tyre is only available in 'left' and 'right' side versions and must be used in matching sets to balance the vehicle dynamically.

Peugeot 206 180BHPrnI used these tyres in the Peugeot challenge a couple of years ago. I really liked them in the end but at first I found the car moved around much more than on the Yokohama’s. Once I got used to putting more input into the car and letting it slid around more they worked really well and I think are faster than the Yoko’s. Conditions have to be right though and they don’t like a lot of loose gravel! rn

The event was Single venue rally at melbourne near York. Car - Escourt 2.0 Pinto. Conditions were dry and the surface was a mixture of rough concreate and gravel. We used some worn R800s in a medium compound and they were spot on. We got through a few sets but as they were second hand and not enough tread for the forest that was fine. Its was very rough in places but no punctures!!
